POSITIVE DISCIPLINE FOR PRESCHOOLERS

Six-week series for parents/caregivers of children 3-5 years old

Are you feeling frustrated by your preschooler's sudden willfulness? Difficulty transitioning? Never-ending bedtime routines? Whining and selective hearing? Uncooperative attitude?

Positive Discipline is for parents who are looking for long-term parenting skills that encourage their children to become more responsible, independent, and life-long problem solvers.  Positive Discipline incorporates respectful methods based on kindness and firmness that help parents get to the core of their child’s behavior.

Based on the work of Jane Nelsen, Alfred Adler and Rudolf Dreikurs, this six-week workshop will utilize weekly assigned readings, journaling, and group discussions as we discuss ways we can:

  • Engage children in the problem-solving process

  • Find alternatives to relying on rewards and punishments to motivate your child’s behavior
Find alternatives to punishments and "time-out"

  • Create more peace and harmony at home with simple solutions to getting out the door, getting to bed, and more!

  • Put your child on the path to independence and self-confidence
